Under UK MEES legislation, it is unlawful to grant a new lease, extend an existing lease, or sell a commercial property unless it has a valid Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (Non-Domestic EPC) with a minimum rating of Band E. Fines for leasing commercial property with a sub-standard EPC reach up to £150,000 (based on rateable value). What Is Surveyed in a Commercial EPC?
