Legal Timelines & Council Penalties
Landlords must supply a copy of the EICR to tenants within 28 days, and to the local housing authority within 7 days if requested. Failure to comply can result in local council civil penalties of up to £30,000. If remedial works (C1 or C2) are identified, they must be completed within 28 days.
